Why is it your soul that determines your life's direction?
Your soul points to the direction of your life, while your mind makes sure that you are provided for. Your heart jumps for joy when it gets what it wants. While our mind helps us to avoid excess, our soul wants for you what you really desire without being influenced by outer necessities, thoughts of safety or the opinion of other people.
Your mind tries to find the easiest way, might not listen to your soul, and just accomplishes what seems reasonable. You feel anxiety or sadness instead of joy or contentment if you are heading into a direction that is different from your soul's direction. If you don't follow your soul's path, your subconscious will find other ways to get there.
However, if you are following your soul's calling, you might feel anxiety because it is what you always dreamed of. Sometimes, what our soul wants and what we have been told to do are very different things. When we move into a direction that nobody approves of, then we might feel fear, too.
Once you agree to pay attention to your soul's direction, things that you never would have imagined start to unfold. For people with disabilities it is a huge challenge to listen to their soul, and in order to realize their dreams they have to make adjustments according to what is appropriate and possible for them.
How to detect the direction of your soul's compass:
Your soul's compass determines the direction of your ship, but it doesn't determine the crew members, the speed, the weather conditions or the size of the ship. How do we read our soul's compass? Check the direction that your compass points to by asking yourself when you feel joy and contentment. Why are you feeling joy in these situations?
What are you doing in your leisure time? What have you done in the past? What would you love doing? If your dream is too dangerous, then ask yourself what you like most about your dream. Your soul's compass points to ONE direction. Don't move into another direction just because it also seems to be nice.
When you are not sure about the direction, then throw a coin, imagine doing it, and check out how you feel about it. What can you do if you don't know anything about what you want? Let your friends make a list of what they think that you love doing. Read what other people did in their lives and what they are currently doing.
Get in contact with many different things, see someone doing them, and you might think "Oh, I would like to do the same!" Then you try it out, and if you really like it, you do it again. Circumstances can be disturbing, so you also have to look for a place with the appropriate circumstances.
If you are facing one obstacle after another, perhaps it's not the right thing for you. If obstacles continue to show up and nothing encouraging happens at the same time, you should change the place, because perhaps there is something wrong with the place. Nonetheless, when changing the place doesn't improve your situation, you might not head into your soul's direction. |
